If you wanna know what that is, it is Worshipping Until Something Happens...

It works.

Anyway... sometimes I wish I had the talent to be deep like David or some of these other people, and use the big words and metaphors and all that... But I realize that it's just not me. Sometimes I wish I could say things that were just pure wisdom that could send someone to their knees. But that never happens. I do believe I am becoming wiser with every day in my life, as God helps me, but I know I'm nowhere near where I wanna be. I'm just a young, 20 year old man, who loves to worship God and dwell in his prescence. But I'll admit, I'm not where I wanna be as far as worshipping God on my own. It kinda takes a while for me to get there, if I don't have an organ, some drums, and some other people worshipping with me.

Anywho, life is just that. Life. I'm alive. And thankful for it. I can't seem to figure out how I'm makin it, but I am. No. Let me rephrase that. Others might not seem to figure out how I'm makin it, but I know it's the almighty God. That's another thing, I hate sounding cliche'. I hate sounding normal. I hate sounding corny. But that's just what comes out when I speak. I don't know what it is. I would love not to sound like that to people, but to me, I do. And that, to me, makes people less interested in what I have to say. But I will say this, I thank God for a genuineness and a sincerity that he has imbedded in my soul. I do mean what I say. I'm not just following what someone else said, yah know? Thanx for that, God.

What else do I feel like saying? I wish that everybody knew God. I wish everybody wanted to get to know Him and not just know OF Him. I wish my words were more appealing to the unbeliever. But they're not, at least I don't think, so I just live the life, hoping that someone sees that I'm living holy, and different from what everyone else lives, and that I do have a genuineness and sincerity about me, and want to know what it's all about. Ministry through just living my life. I wanna show people that you can still have fun and be a soldier for Christ. You may not get drunk, go gamblin, or whatever, but there is so much more freedom. I feel free from trying to have fun by doing what everybody else does. I don't have to impress anybody. I can have fun the way I want to have fun. Not just doing what's popular. That's like chains to me. I like to go to the movies, I like to chill at the pad and talk with the boys, I like to dance and groove to the music, like the next guy, long as I ain't having sex with my clothes on, on the dance floor. It provokes the wrong types of thoughts for me. I want to keep it pure. Yah know? May seem like it's too much, but the kind of mentality that brings can lead to being a baby's daddy before I wanna be, before I can prepare to be one, before I can even provide for myself on my own. Like Dave, I'm a BMW. Black Man Working. Appreciate us while you can. We are very few in number. Especially the gentleman types. I don't know how I got into this subject but I did. *sigh* I gotta get ready to go but I'mma get back on this joint later...

For some reason today, I feel more humble than usual.

-Mic B. a.k.a. <lj:music>"Standin In The Need" - Deitrick Haddon</lj:music>

Yo, why do people trip when I try to help them? Only the most combat hardened people can take constructive criticism. I'll take what you see wrong in me, and I'll change it, if it helps me to communicate better, and if it makes me a better child of God. I'm just doing the best that I can. Are you? Are you doing your best? Or are you just reacting to every emotion that you feel? I don't understand how people can say I'm looking down on them, when all I'm doing is seeing a problem, and letting them know where they are wrong, just like you can do with me, as long as it lines up with the Word of God. We are supposed to let each other know where we are wrong, as it pertains to the Word of God, so we can all make it to the city called HEAVEN. That is the ultimate goal. If we are not living right, then we won't make it. Point blank. And the Word of God says what?

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted." - Galations 6:1

I'm trying to restore someone back to God. Just as I expect a brother in Christ to let me know what's wrong with me, and restore me to where I need to be. When I'm wrong, I'm wrong, and I don't see you as thinking you're better than me, it's just that you don't have this problem and I do, and you can tell me to fix it because you don't have the problem... You've been through it before OR you have gotten it from God, because as the scripture said, you are spiritual. Just like I can tell you to fix something because I have been through that before, and I have a spiritual view of the situation. Do you get me? I'm kinda goin off but I'm not mad. I just feel a certain way about things... and I wanna get it out. That's what the journal is for right? I'm gonna get outta here. God is great. Holla at me. INK.

-Mic.B a.k.a.
I haven't left. I'm still here. And that, in itself I can be thankful for. My project is officially in the wings, yall. Just waiting to be put together. 2.0 is going to be working on the logo and cover for...

"Who Is Mic B?" the EP

It's gonna be real organic, and gritty, but sleek. If you can picture that all together. Heh, you'll see. I got the vision all in here... (points to head). And mind, when I say those words, I'm speakin on the cover art, not the EP.

The EP itself, will be very diverse in nature. From the stuff people expect me to do, you know... the r&b and neo-soul stuff(Musiq, Eric Benet, Bilal, Glenn Lewis, Tonex)... to a rather bluesy, jazzy, big band, easy listening, old school taste (Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr, Nat King Cole)... to the mainstream hip-hop & r&b feel (Joe, Carl Thomas, Dave Hollister, Jaheim, R.Kelly, Tonex again)... to the down home, churchy, soul joints (D'Angelo, Anthony Hamilton, Donny Hathaway)... and finally the laid back, mellow, groove wit it, lay on your bed and vibe feel (Bilal again, Maxwell, Donell Jones, Tonex once again). I tried to explain all the different angles I'm trying to come from... But I don't know if I did a good job. Anyways, that's what I'm trying to do. Trying to use all my God given talents to their advantages... That, in a sense embodies Mic B. I am musically made up of all those that came before me, as well as my own self. I have listened and learned from all these people. And I still am learning.

Also, I'll be featuring at least three lyricists on this project. Apostle 13 will be featured on "Half-Steppin". A thumpin beat with infectious vocals laid over top just proclaiming that if you put God first, you will get exactly what you need and want. Secondly, Applejaxx, will be featured on "Lovely". A truely sincere love song, about all the loveliness of "her". And lastly, Chizmatonic will be featured on "Bcuz". A slow, but driving song about how God set me free from the snares of the enemy. Victorious song indeed.

I'm being quite the promoter tonight aren't I? Heh. I'll be sure to let you all know when this really starts jumpin off. Holla at me, yall. Oh!!! And make sure you cop that "Applejaxx 805 P.O.P. EP" at www.nureau-underground.cjb.net a.s.a.p.!!! But people kept calling. Finally Tiff called and was like hurry up the movie starts at 8. So I headed on home. I pulled up and beeped so we could hurry up and get to the movies. Quishe' came out and said Tiff said to come in and wait for her because she was in the bathroom. So I gout out my car, went to the front door, and...

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!

I was blown back. My first birthday party. At 20 years of age. All my close friends & family were there. I loved it. And what I thought was a birthday to forget became a birfday to remember, even though it was three days later than the actual day. Bless God. I'd been wanting some kinda party. If not, I won't be disappointed. I'm over that, and I know people are strugglin' monetarily. I just wish I could have a party. Never had one before. In my entire life. I don't even have to be doing anything special. I just wanna be able to say I had a birthday party, yah know? Anywho, besides that point, which you all can tell is kinda important to me, I am happy to be living another year. I can't complain. And maybe Kobe, especially if he turns out to be guilty. Cause first you lose a championship, then a case? That's not cool. Anyways, I believe he is innocent, but we'll see. He won't lose the case. <lj:music>"Thank Q" - Tonex's "Out The Box"</lj:music>

First off... Tonex's "Out The Box" is really selling. After one week of sales, it went straight to number 1 on the billboard gospel charts. #1 Debut! Secondly, not only is it #1 on the billboard gospel charts, it is #15 on the R&B charts, & might I add... over Outkast and Janet. What that means is that this album sold more copies this week than outkast and janet, and a bunch of others... And this is only the first week of sales! Crazy. It's selling. You should go buy it.

Second... Tonex appeared on Soul Train on last saturday. He ripped it. Well, about as much as any one who's lip sinking can rip it. You all know how bootleg Soul Train is. They never let artists do anything live. Anywho, the dancing was ridiculously tight. I was feelin it. Also, they did a 1 hour special on him on BET on sunday. Crazy. I'm happy for him. He to me, is truly the hardest working man in the business.

Lastly, in case you all didn't know, I found out on last thursday that one of my jr. high ex girlfriends, Shaniqua Martin, you know... Priscilla's daughter for all you SCPA heads, is engaged to Woody Rock. He's one of the members of Dru Hill. That's bananas. Congrats to her man! Do yah thizzle! I believe that is all for today. <lj:music>"Angel Cry" - Brotha Los feat. Mic B. & Tonex - Nureau Radio</lj:music>

Yo whassup yall. Have good news. Yesterday, I went out before work at about 8 in the mern and got Tonex's "Out The Box" and it was sooooo tight. The lady in the store was lookin at me all funny cause I was hoppin around like a kid in a candy store. This is how it went down...

I was looking for the album, and I couldn't find it in any of the racks. So this lady that worked at the walmart, came over and asked if I neded any help finding anything... So I say, "Yeah I'm lookin for Tonex's Out The B..." and before I could finish I looked up and it was all on display away from the rest of the albums, and I took it. I began to get really anxious to hear and see what it was like. The lady was like, "ok, why are you so acting like that" in a nutshell. And I'm like, "LOOK! I'M ON THE BACK COVER!!!" Then she says wow, and looks at it, and then she says that she is happy and anxious for me, too. LoL. So I leave out and enjoy it while I'm on the freeway, pumpin my fist out my window almost all the way there (I say almost cause there were some slow songs too... lol) I couldn't get through all of the album because it's a two disk... But I showed it off everywhere I went. My name is in there man!

Anyways, when I got home from work, Tiffany called me and was telling me that in Riverside and in Fullerton she had been to like 8, 9, 10 different stores and it was sold out! The stores were taking orders! She finally got it when one of the walmarts she went to had restocked. Crazy. And on top of that, the new www.yotonex.com website crashed because too many people were trying to access it! This is bananas!!! I think this joint is goin platinum! Oh yeah, that's another thing, the DVD is pre-ordered platinum. Meaning 1 Million people have already pre-ordered the DVD from the Live Concert!!!!!!! Nuts!!! Go get it. Holla Back!
What's up? I'm good. Very good. I think I've learned to let God be my joy, no matter what is going on.

I have a $297.00 cell phone bill.

Still got joy.

My cousin passed away on friday. She was only 35.

Still got joy.

I was only able to pay part of my car insurance.

Still got joy.

There's more, but you get the message. When the world would expect me to want to give up, and throw in the towel, and forget it all, I still got drive to stay on the grind. I still got my joy, no matter what is goin on. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I think I finally realize the meaning of that scripture. Blessing.

He has me speechless.

Good things...

Tonex's "Out The Box" comes out on tuesday, May 18th. I am in on the picture on the back cover. And all over the background singing. I really think this thing is goin platinum. Please go out and cop it. It's a double disk. In stores everywhere.

Aside from that, I got a new song recorded. It came out really nice. It's called "Half-Steppin". Real Musiq Soulchild type vibe.

Also, I'm officially writing two songs for Ms.Tonex's album. Real nice trax. I wish they were mine, but they are hot though. I am glad I have the opportunity, that's money for me, man. Songwriters make paper. God is opening doors. Now I gotta make sure my ASCAP is in place. So I can get all the funds I have rights to.

Last but not least, talked to T today, it's his birfday. Had to congradulate him. Tonex will forever be 26, he says... heh.
